I've got a laptop already, but it's a couple of years old and it's quite heavy. It works alright but I work on the road quite a lot so I'm looking for something very portable. The eee seems like the ideal size of machine, but I think it only comes with Linux at the moment. Will I be able to edit all my office documents and stuff on it?

You're right it's Linux based. But it's very "windowsish" in appearance and it comes preinstalled with OpenOffice which can open and save Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Furthermore, OpenOffice has a "Save as PDF" function, which I'm pretty sure MS Office does not have. Otherwise, you have Firefox for web browsing, and Thunderbird for email. And a Instant Messenger Client (for hooking up to MSN messenger) called Pidgin. It all works very nicely indeed.

Did I mention Skype was also pre installed?

The other thing I'd say is : even if the machine doesn't suit you, it's £200 quid, and you could probably sell it on ebay for what you paid virtually!

Freddy.
