I am about >this close< to hurling my poor little Eee out of the window. I've been trying to make this work for a few days now.
I plugged my Ethernet cable into the Eee PC and rebooted. No internet.
Selected 'wired connection' set it to DHCP, ticked the little ticky box. No internet.
Rebooted. No internet.
Did something I found here on the forum involving removing the battery. No internet.
Did something I found here on the forum involving recovery mode. Didn't work.
Tried to install an atl2 .deb package. Wouldn't install.
I use Ubuntu on my desktop PC and I'm used to the Ethernet connection 'just working' in Ubuntu - i.e. pop the cable in, instant internet connection with no hassle. This is draining my confidence in *buntu and in the Eee PC in general.
Please, if anyone can come up with any suggestions, I will be eternally grateful and will bake you some biscuits (if you live close enough to me that they won't go stale in transit).
