Just found this site today - thought I'd test out the "i'm thinking of buying an EEE PC" thread!!!

A friend of mine was saying if I wanted a small portable computer then the Nokia N810 was the best way to go. I don't really like the look of the keyboard, and of course it seems a bit less flexible than the EEE BUT it is more pocket sized..

I know I am going to get an overwhelming "EEEs are great" type response, but I want to hear a bit more than that preferably - does anyone here own both???

I don't own both (I own just the EEE) but I have used an N810 and it's a good machine. I think the thing is they're designed with different people in mind. In my opinion you could never do 'real' work on the N810. It has a tiny little keyboard and although its screen is good, it is still somewhat fiddly to use. It feels more like a phone without a simcard than a laptop.

The EEE is a tiny laptop. You CAN do real work on it, because the keyboard is usable and the screen tilts.. However, the EEE is far bigger than the N810. You could almost get the N810 into a big pocket whereas the EEE just wouldn't fit.

A lot of people have been comparing the EEE and N810 but I don't think they're really comparable. If you need something like the EEE, then the EEE is the best option. If you need something like an N810 then undoubtedly the N810 is good.
