Planning to purchase 900 or 100 EEE. Not sure with what operating system to use.

Would the Linus be able to open email msgs & attachments originating from programs such as Outlook & Outlook Express?

Would I be able to create an email in Linus which can be opened by anyone not using Linus in their computer's software?

Which is better LInus or Windows XP for the EEE?
Linux will not run Outlook or Outlook Express. That's the fault of Microsoft, not Linux. But you can run Thunderbird, which does about the same thing, and there is an email program included with the Linux install. And yes, emails created in any email handler can be opened in any other.

I really love the Eee PC's implementation of Xandros Linux, it's easier to use and has more features than the handicapped Windows XP. I bought two Eee PC 701s, one had Xandros and the other had XP... I kept the Xandros one.
Linux is not Windows, you will never find something of Microsoft that works in Linux, anyway, Linux has it's own programs, normlly better and more flexible than the Windows one.

If you are a person that like to try new things, i reommend Linux. Also Linux is more integrated to the Eee than Windows

If you are a person that simply annot adapt to new things, better use Windows.
