Hi,

Has anybody here done the BIOS update that has come through on the software updates (factory default EEE linux install)... I'm a bit nervous about doing this as apparently it can brick the machine if it goes wrong...

Wouldn't worry about it. I'll post a photo of mine doing its BIOS update in a minute...

Note that it checksum fails. Do not panic at this point. Just go into the bios, save settings as is, and quit. It will then reboot just fine.

I was looking to do this myself but im still too scared! did it make much diference to the machine's performance?
